We also use sterile, single-use needles. Following treatment, mild side effects may occur. This tends to include temporary redness, swelling, and tenderness that quickly resolves on its own. Bruising may also occur, which may be concealed with makeup.
We recommend that patients wait at least 6 hours after the procedure to apply makeup. Long term side effects are rare, but possible, as with all cosmetic injectables. The risk of unintentionally injecting into the blood vessels is rare but may cause permanent complications. Each patient is advised of all possible risks prior to the procedure.
