    Restylane Refynein Boston

Boston Medical Aesthetics is proud to offer Restylane Refyne, one of the newest anti-aging products from the global leader in cosmetic injectables since 2003, Galderma.

Designed to eliminate nasolabial folds and marionette lines in a single treatment, this revolutionary facial filler takes advantage of the latest XpresHAn Technology. Restylane Refyne has been highly praised for its efficacy, safety, and uncompromising results that our clients have come to expect from our Boston medical spa.

    About Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles around the mouth, including marionette lines and nasolabial folds. Nasolabial folds are the vertical lines that form from the nostril area down toward the sides of the mouth, while marionette lines extend from the mouth corners to the chin.

Refyne works by injecting hyaluronic acid into the mid-to-deep dermal layer. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar compound that is produced naturally in the human body. Combining HA with an ingredient called BDDE strengthens the bonds between the HA molecules, enabling our patients to achieve long-lasting cosmetic correction in a single procedure.

    Restylane Refyne vs Restylane Defyne

Both are hyaluronic acid fillers featured in Galderma’s new line of cosmetic injectables. The key difference between Restylane Defyne and Refyne is the flexibility of the gel. While both fillers treat nasolabial folds and marionette lines, the HA gel in Restylane Defyne is slightly thicker and more rigid than the gel in Restylane Refyne. This is all possible thanks to the invention of XpresHAn Technology.

Defyne provides more support for highly expressive areas of the face, such as around the mouth, when deep folds and severe wrinkles are present. For this reason, it may be more suitable for older patients with more pronounced nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Meanwhile, Restylane Refyne offers more flexibility for patients with mild nasolabial folds and marionette lines that may benefit from having a softer, more flexible filler.

While similar, the advanced nurse practitioner at Boston Medical Aesthetics, Jennifer Canesi, APN-BC, is excited to share the benefits of each different treatment with you. We are committed to personalizing cosmetic injections to your exact needs so you can get the best results with our variety of high-quality dermal fillers.

    Your Restylane Refyne Treatment

Your consultation for Restylane Refyne starts with meeting our nurse practitioner, Jennifer Canesi, APN-BC. Together, you determine if Refyne or Defyne will achieve your desired outcome. The injection takes only minutes to perform, so you can often be treated the same day as the consultation if desired.

Refyne contains lidocaine, an anesthetic that reduces pain during injection. Our Boston Restylane Refyne patients may be administered a topical numbing cream or ice prior to injection for a more comfortable experience. After numbing, a series of quick injections take place. Slight pressure and mild discomfort will dissipate only seconds after injection. The filler is safely injected into the skin with a fine, sterile needle. Injections are done according to the safest injection techniques, as recommended by the manufacturer.

As a trained cosmetic injector that has performed thousands of cosmetic injections, Jennifer relies on her experience and knowledge of facial anatomy to reduce any risks or unwanted side effects. In minutes, you will see a dramatically rejuvenated appearance in the mouth area, as the product softens nasolabial folds and marionette lines the moment it is injected. Please note we do not currently offer dermal fillers for the nose, tear trough area or temples.

    Restylane Refyne FAQs

Restylane Refyne is safe and proven to work on marionette lines and laugh lines. There is little to no downtime with this procedure. Due to a high concentration of blood vessels and nerve endings around the mouth, temporary redness, bruising, lumps, swelling, and tenderness may occur shortly after treatment. Most side effects are mild and will subside quickly. Serious side effects are rare. You will be advised of all possible risks prior to treatment. Jennifer is trained in proper injection techniques to reduce undesirable side effects. Your health and safety always come first at our Boston medical spa.

Restylane Refyne is ideal for mild wrinkles around the mouth with results that can last up to one year. This dynamic facial filler can be used alone to rejuvenate the mid-to-lower third of the face. Patients that wish to address aging skin or volume loss in other areas of the face may benefit from other varieties of facial fillers or wrinkle injections like Botox or Dysport. Refyne can be safely administered in conjunction with other facial fillers or wrinkle relaxers for patients that require it.
